#FairnessChallenge Exercise Calendar
The goal: Focus on a specific practice each day associated with one of the four key elements of fairness: respect, voice, understanding, and neutrality.
Some tips for using this calendar:
Commit fully to each practice: Each listed practice is designed to be simple. Also, these practices may similar to things you do already. Because the impact of these practices are maximized when implemented daily and sustained over time, we hope you will prioritize each day’s practice as closely as scripted.
Adapt (minimally) as needed: The proposed language of these is deliberate, as well as a suggested application: such as opening each court session. But not all practices must be used verbatim if adaptations are needed for your role or context. We’ll be inviting your feedback along the way about how you adapted these to build out our recommended practices.
Engage your colleagues: Whether you’re participating on your own or as part of a larger team, this work is designed to be discussed with your peers. “Team Challenges” are inserted to prompt you to invite others to collectively practice one of the recommended practices or another you decide upon as a group. For professionals in smaller courts who may have few on-site colleagues, consider how engaging your peers on social media or email about these practices or via other remote engagements to satisfy the “Team Challenges.”
Share feedback: We’re eager to hear how it’s going to please click here to share what adaptations you’re making and here to share other feedback.
